Thinking of Starting a Mahabba Group?

THE VISION OF MAHABBA

Mahabba exists to awaken followers of Jesus to love, pray and share faith with Muslim people.

We are a relational network, which Encourages prayer; Envisions the Christian community and Enables all Christians to Engage with Muslims.

WHAT DOES A MAHABBA GROUP DO?

A Mahabba group meets regularly to pray for Muslims in the locality. The Mahabba vision is rooted in such prayer but it doesn’t end there. We find that as groups pray, opportunities arise for everyday Christians to interact with everyday Muslims. Over time, further activities present themselves, such as:

  • Working with other existing local ministries.

  • Offering training to equip members of different churches to reach out to Muslim people.

  • Mobilising outreach to Muslims by local Christians.

  • Supporting local churches as they care for Muslims who choose to follow Jesus.

ROLE OF THE COORDINATOR

Each Mahabba group has a Coordinator and/or coordinating team. In brief they lead local group meetings and coordinate other activities, which arise with local churches or with the Muslim community. Their role is supported by the Mahabba Connect Team. The Coordinator also serves as the link-person with the national Mahabba Steering Team.

Is this a role you could fulfil? Or can you think of someone you know who may be able to do it? Do let us know.
