Relationships of Grace and Truth

A worthwhile day is in store with the following contributors communicating their expertise and practical experience of sharing Jesus with their Muslim friends.

Andy Bannister

What’s the real story of how Islam began? What can historians actually tell us about the story of Muhammad and rise of Islam? What about the Qur’an: has it been perfectly preserved, as Muslims claim, or is there a more complex story?

Andy, who has a PhD in Islamic Studies, will share some of the cutting-edge research on early Islam and the origins of the Qur’an that are now beginning to question the origin of the Qur’an and the beginning of Islam. He will also help us understand some of the implications—as well as how we use some of this material in conversations about faith with our Muslim friends and neighbours.

Tom Walsh

How easy is it for new followers of Jesus from a Muslim background to join and integrate with Christian communities in the UK. Tom will share the findings of his PhD research and also help us to understand better how we can be family to believers from a Muslim background

Duncan Peters

How do we begin to engage with our Muslim friends and neighbours? Duncan is a Free Church minster in Glasgow with long experience of sharing his life and faith with Sunni, Shia and Ahmadiyya Muslims. He is the author of Holy Injil Luke, a new translation from the original Greek of ‘Luke’

Steve Bell

Recently retired as Director of Interserve for England and Wales, Steve has joined the Mahabba Network (UK)’s Network Team, with particular responsibility for leading strategy.

He is a regular speaker at Spring Harvest, Keswick Convention, New Wine and the conferences of FIEC and AOG and is author of Friendship First, Grace for Muslims and Gospel for Muslims and co-edited Between Naivety & Hostility. Steve’s passion is to facilitate ‘ordinary’ Christians discussing the good news of Jesus with ‘ordinary’ Muslims with an attitude of grace and truth.

Please tell your friends and encourage them to come with you!
